TRAFFIC ALERT: Fatal crash shuts down CR-42 in Lake County

A fatal crash Wednesday morning has both directions of County Road 42 shut down in Lake County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened around 6:10 a.m. just east of State Road 19 in Altoona.

According to the FHP, the crash involved a 2006 Chevy Cobalt, a 2019 Subaru WRX and a 2018 Ford F-150. The Chevy driver was pronounced dead at the scene while the two other drivers were not injured.

Troopers said both directions of CR-42 are blocked, and delays should be expected.

No other information, including the age of the Chevy driver, has been released.

An investigation is ongoing.
