Two-car crash with pedestrian on West Terry Street leaves one dead

A 51-year-old Bonita Springs man died Wednesday when he attempted to cross West Terry Street on foot and was hit by two cars.

The accident happened at 7:12 p.m. Wednesday.

The man killed was attempting to cross West Terry when the driver of a black Nissan pickup heading west hit the man with the front of his truck, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The accident happened just east of Edgewood Street.

The driver of a second car, a red Volkswagen SUV, just behind the pickup also hit the pedestrian who was pronounced dead at the scene, according to reports.

The driver of the pickup is a 32-year-old man from Bonita Springs. He was not injured.

His passenger, a 38-year-old woman also of Bonita Springs, was not injured.

The driver of the Volkswagen was a 17-year-old woman from Fort Myers. She was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
