Two hospitalized after car submerges in pond in Santa Rosa Beach

According to Florida Highway Patrol, a traffic accident in Santa Rosa Beach has left two in the hospital.

On Sunday around 9:30 p.m., a black sedan was driving east on a private road within the Elevate Navarre apartment complex. FHP said the vehicle left the roadway, collided with a fence, and then entered a water retention pond.

The vehicle became fully submerged in the water and both occupants were transported to the hospital with serious injuries. The driver was a 34-year-old female from Navarre and the other occupant was a 12-year-old male also from Navarre.

This incident is still under investigation.
