Both directions of Interstate 295 came to a stop Thursday afternoon after a crash involving a recreational vehicle (RV) and a septic vehicle.
The crash happened near the Dunn Avenue exit. Lanes in both directions were snarled for a few hours while first responders worked to clear the scene and rescue those involved.
A Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department (JFRD) spokesperson said one person was trapped after the crash. That person was rescued by JFRD firefighters and sent to the hospital in serious condition. Another person was sent to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
