Two killed in Glades County 3-vehicle crash

Two people died after three vehicles, including a truck, collided in Glades County along State Road 78, approximately six miles west of U.S. Highway 27.

The crash happened at approximately 1:08 p.m. Tuesday.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol news release, a sedan and van were going east on State Road 78. A truck was traveling west on the roadway.

Troopers said the driver of the sedan, a 35-year-old Apopka woman, went onto the westbound travel lane and into the path of the truck. The two vehicles collided.

The collision sent the truck into the path of the van, and the front of the van collided with the side of the truck.

The Apopka woman and the driver of the van, a 61-year-old man from Tennessee, were pronounced dead on the scene.

According to FHP, the 45-year-old Miami man who was driving the truck suffered minor injuries in the crash.

Troopers said the crash remains under investigation.
