The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office said they arrested two members of a motorcycle club in connection to a road rage shooting investigation near Sunseeker Resort.
Deputies responded to the scene on Saturday around 6:30 p.m. for reports of a road rage incident that included a shooting near the Gilchrist Bridge.
CCSO said investigators found that multiple motorcycles were involved and bikes matching the descriptions of those involved were found at the Shell Gas Station on Jones Loop Road.
Deputies arrived and identified the suspects as CS, 34, and DD, 48.
According to CCSO, deputies detained the bikers who were wearing vests and patches belonging to the Phgantoms Motorcycle Club.
CCSO said the motorcycle club is referred to as the “one percenters” which they said means members believe they are the one percent who do not fall within the laws.
Deputies searched the members where they said they found marijuana and weapons in the vest and vehicles, including guns, brass knuckles and a knife.
CCSO said S and D were arrested on various charges related to the investigation, including marijuana possessions and possession of drug paraphernalia. D was also reportedly charged with carrying a concealed weapon.
The agency said this is an ongoing investigation, and further details will be provided as they are available.
