Two Pensacola men seriously injured in head-on crash on Gulf Beach Highway

Two Pensacola men ages 47 and 22 were seriously injured in a head-on crash Tuesday morning in Escambia County.

It happened on Gulf Beach Highway near Casa Maria Lane around 9:05 a.m.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, a 47-year-old man was traveling westbound in a Honda Sedan, while the 22-year-old man was traveling eastbound in a Honda Sedan.

The 47-year-old man failed to negotiate a curve and entered the eastbound lane, where a head-on collision took place with the other Honda Sedan.

The 22-year-old man’s Honda proceeded to enter the south shoulder and became engulfed in flames.

Before Escambia County Fire Rescue’s arrival, the drivers of the vehicles were removed by bystanders. Fire crews extinguished the fire while tending to the patients.

One driver was flown to an area hospital, while the other was transported by EMS.
