Two people hit by car during large fight on Riviera Beach street, police say

A reported fight in the middle of a Riviera Beach street on Tuesday afternoon led to the arrest of a woman accused of deliberately striking two people in the crowd with a car.

In the collision, one of the victims was knocked to the ground and left injured on the ground; while the other victim got caught on the hood and was left pleading with the driver to stop, the Riviera Beach Police Department stated.

The suspect, Katrelle Fulmore, was arrested shortly after the incident and booked on two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, jail records show.

According to the probable cause affidavit, officers responded to West 28th Street, two blocks west of President Barack Obama Highway, around 6:30 p.m. after they were told about a fight involving approximately 20 people. A later call indicated that someone had hit people in that group with a vehicle.

The affidavit included statements from two witnesses, one of whom described seeing Fullmore, 32, driving erratically at “a high rate of speed” and running into several people. The witness indicated that, after the first strike, the vehicle turned around and headed back at the individuals before stopping.

The victim who was taken to the hospital after the attack told investigators he and the other victim, who is his aunt, were trying to break up a fight involving his sister when car struck him. He also claimed to have heard someone yell out, “Trelle, why would you do that?”

The other victim offered a similar account of the incident. The affidavit states she recounted trying to break up the fight and seeing the car bearing down on them. She described to officers how she tried to push the other victim out of the way before the collision, then being stuck on the hood afterwards.

The victim added that the car kept going several hundred feet with her on it, yelling multiple times for the driver to stop, the affidavit continued.

While officers located and arrested a suspect, the affidavit noted they did not immediately find the vehicle involved.
