Two semi-trucks collide, causing highway shutdown in Okeechobee County

Two semi-trucks crashed in Okeechobee County, causing a significant highway shutdown.

On Monday morning, the Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) reported that two semis collided on Highway 70 West near Northwest 41st Avenue.

Officials stated that both travel lanes had been blocked.

In OCSO’s latest update at 8:24 a.m., it was stated that the highway would be closed for most of the day due to a large diesel spill at the crash site.

Travelers are being rerouted down North West 48th Avenue, commonly known as Old Dixie, according to OCSO.
