Two vehicles strike 71-year-old woman in Delray Beach, pronounced dead at scene

An elderly woman was killed after she was struck by two vehicles in Delray Beach on Wednesday night.

The Delray Beach Police Department (DRPD) said the deadly crash occurred at around 8:21 p.m. at 2000 S. Ocean Boulevard. The 71-year-old woman was struck by two vehicles, one heading northbound and the other southbound.

Police said the elderly woman was stopped between both travel lanes, but no further details were provided.

DRPD said the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said both drivers involved in the crash stopped immediately and fully cooperated with law enforcement. As a result of the investigation, S. Ocean Boulevard was closed in both directions for several hours.
