Two women accused of crashing hotel room, nearly run over employee in escape: Sheriff

Two women are accused of crashing a hotel room and trying to hit one of its employees with a car as they made their escape.

According to the Sebastian Police Department, an investigating officer responded Monday to Capt Hirams, located at 1580 U.S. Highway 1, regarding a past burglary.

The arrest affidavit says the investigator met with the front desk receptionist who explained that after clocking into work she noticed a hotel charge for two movies in room 107, one of the resort rooms. The receptionist noted that there was no reservation for that room, nor did anyone check into the room, the affidavit goes on.

The receptionist and housekeeping went to check the room and noticed that it was deadlocked. That’s when one of the housekeeping women went outside and saw two women leaving the room.

The report goes on that one of the housekeepers tried to ask one of the women for the room key, to which one of the suspects said her friend had it. That’s when the two women got into a black car, which almost hit one of the employees.

The police department was able to conduct a traffic stop on the suspect’s vehicle, a Nissan Sentra, in Vero Beach where they were taken to Indian River County Jail. Officers were able to identify the two women as Kimberly Greer and Danielle Maroska, the arrest report says.

Police spoke with Greer who said she and Maroska went to Capt Hirams to meet Maroska’s boyfriend who allegedly opened the patio door, the report says.

However, when deputies asked for the boyfriend’s name, Greer couldn’t give them one. Officers proceeded to tell them that when they rented two movies, it charged the hotel room.

Greer was booked on counts of burglary and entering an occupied dwelling, theft and aggravated assault without the intent to kill. Maroska was also booked on counts of burglary and petit theft.
