A vehicle fire shut down northbound I-75 in North Fort Myers Tuesday morning in Lee County near the Charlotte County line.

Dense black smoke billowed from a van while fire crews battled the blaze at Mile Marker 148, which shut down the interstate at 9:10 a.m.
At 9:43 a.m., flames were extinguished, and lanes began reopening while cleanup efforts were underway.
