A crash in Venice resulted in a “serious injury,” the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday night.
The sheriff’s office said the crash occurred at Tamiami Trail and National Boulevard and one victim was taken by Bayflight helicopter for treatment.
Southbound Tamiami Trail between Venice East Boulevard and National Boulevard is closed until further notice while the sheriff’s office and Florida Highway Patrol investigate.
Residents are advised to find another route.
