Westbound I-4 reopens after closure due to crash near Sand Lake Road in Orlando

A crash on Interstate 4 in Orange County closed all westbound lanes at Sand Lake Road just after 9 p.m. on Monday.

The crash caused traffic to back up significantly for roughly an hour. 

Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol said the crash involved a 2021 Hyundai Sedan and a 2020 BMW SUV and occurred at approximately 9:16 p.m. on I-4 westbound at mile marker 74.

The drivers involved are a 20-year-old male from Orlando and a 69-year-old male from Hollywood, Florida. One driver was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The roadblock was cleared just after 10 p.m. The crash remains under investigation.
