A 71-year-old Williston man died and a 23-year-old Williston woman is in serious condition following a three-vehicle collision on State Road 121 Monday morning.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, the Williston woman was driving an SUV north on SR 121 at 8:45 a.m. when she attempted to pass a tractor-trailer driven by a 59-year-old Williston man. The woman stuck an oncoming sedan driving by the 71-year-old Williston man going south on SR 121, striking the left front of the vehicle. The sedan rotated and struck the tractor-trailer with its rear section.
Emergency responders pronounced the 71-year-old Williston man dead on scene and transported the 23-year-old Williston woman to UF Shands Hospital with serious injuries. The tractor-trailer driver was not injured.
