Woman, 27, threatened to ‘shoot it out’ with police rather than go to jail during negotiation: Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office

Two suspects wanted in connection with multiple cases of shooting into an occupied dwelling were found dead on Friday, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday.

Police said it received tips to identify 28-year-old Ian Piscitelli and 27-year-old Briana Arreola after putting out an alert to the community.

Officers went to a home on Gate Parkway on Friday and talked with the two on the phone.

Arreola said she wouldn’t go to jail and claimed she would shoot it out with police instead, police said.

JSO said it called for the SWAT Team and hostage negotiators.

Police said they overheard her asking Piscitelli for a gun as officers surrounded the apartment.

Investigators attempted to de-escalate the situation and talk them out peacefully, but detectives heard two shots on the phone.

SWAT entered the home and found Piscitelli and Arreola dead from gunshot wounds.

Officials said they found multiple firearms in the residence, one of them being in Piscitelli’s hand.

Police are still investigating.
