Woman, 30, killed in Belle Glade highway crash after ill-fated left turn

A deadly crash on a highway in Belle Glade claimed the life of a 30-year-old woman who tried to make a left turn.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) crash report states that on Tuesday around 3:08 p.m., the woman was driving north in a Lexus NX250 in the 12500 block of US-27 South and had stopped in the median break.

The report notes that at the same time, a GMC truck, traveling south in the left lane and towing an unloaded 24-foot open trailer, approached the median.

As the truck drew near, the Lexus made a left turn directly into the path of the GMC. According to officials, the front of the truck collided with the passenger side of the Lexus, causing both vehicles to veer off the roadway.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene where the woman was pronounced dead.
