A Frostproof woman is facing multiple charges after she punched a man and hit him with a garden hoe, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
MD, 47, was reportedly supposed to “hang out” with the man during the evening of Feb. 11, but he said he wouldn’t be able to make it.
At around 3:00 a.m., officials say D went to the man’s house and yelled at him out by his fence before climbing over it. She then pushed through the man’s door and “began punching him.”
Authorities say D had armed herself with a garden hoe and then hit the man with it, leaving a “serious laceration” to his arm.
The man was taken to the hospital and treated for his injury.
The sheriff’s office said D was arrested and faces armed burglary with battery, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, simple battery and criminal mischief.
