A woman is facing a first-degree felony charge after North Miami police said she stabbed her 13-year-old daughter with a fork.
Police arrested K A W, 37, on a charge of aggravated child abuse causing great bodily harm on Saturday. Jail records show the crime happened while she was out on felony bond for grand theft of a vehicle.
According to the arrest report, the incident happened on Nov. 2 as W and her daughter were arguing about her daughter’s cellphone.
“The dispute escalated to where (W) grabbed a kitchen fork and stabbed the victim on the left side of her head, causing (a) minor laceration and bleeding,” police wrote.
Authorities said W then fled and she was later located at a home on Northeast 142nd Street on Saturday on an unrelated matter.
As of Monday afternoon, she was being held without bond in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
