A 51-year-old woman stands accused Wednesday of hitting a man in the head so hard that she caused him a disability, according to an arrest warrant.
Detectives accused MD M of attacking the victim with a “blunt object” on Jan. 4, in Fort Lauderdale and stealing $4,600 in cash and property valued at $750.
Broward County Circuit Judge M G-W issued an arrest warrant on Jan. 7, and police officers arrested M on Jan. 10.
Inmate records show M was at the North Broward Bureau detention center Wednesday in Pompano Beach without bond.
M has a long arrest record that goes back over three decades and includes drugs and weapons charges in Broward County.
M was 19 when she was arrested three times for resisting arrest in Fort Lauderdale. She was 21 when Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested her for theft.
M was 28 when Margate police officers arrested her for theft and fraud and the court moved the cases to mental health court.
M was 32 when Fort Lauderdale police officers arrested her for carrying concealed weapons. Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies also arrested her for cocaine possession
M was 33 when Lauderhill police officers arrested her for uttering forged bills. She was 36 when a man accused her of domestic violence, and Fort Lauderdale police officers arrested her for cocaine possession, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
M was 40 when she was back in mental health court for armed robbery. She was 46 when Fort Lauderdale police officers arrested her for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Five years later, M was behind bars again. On Monday, prosecutors charged her with attempted murder, aggravated battery causing bodily harm or disability, and armed robbery.
M has a competency hearing on March 19. Court records show Broward County Circuit Judge Tim Bailey is set to preside over the case.
