A woman is accused of attacking a law enforcement officer at a St. Petersburg Walmart after eating cookies and stealing undergarments.
A G, 39, was inside the Walmart, located at 201 34th Street North on Saturday afternoon when Walmart’s Loss Prevention had asked her to leave after suspecting she was concealing merchandise.
As G was escorted toward the exit, she began yelling and cursing, before pushing a responding St. Pete police officer’s arm away while trying to “aggressively approach” a store employee to fight her, according to an affidavit.
Store surveillance cameras captured G in the store eating cookies while concealing press-on nails, two bras, and a pair of panties.
The affidavit said G did not pay for the items and passed by all the checkouts. The value of the items totaled $35.75.
G was taken into custody and escorted to the loss prevention office. She is facing charges of battery on a law enforcement officer, petit theft under $100, and disorderly conduct.
The video cannot be obtained at this time because it is considered evidence in her case. WFLA.com will access the video once Gnau reaches the discovery phase in court proceedings.
