Woman dies after being struck by SUV on Osceola County road

A 66-year-old Kissimmee woman died Wednesday after being struck by an SUV on a road in Osceola County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 6:30 p.m. on Kings Highway, north of Henry Partin Road, troopers said.

According to an FHP crash report, the woman entered the southbound lane of Kings Highway in the direct path of a southbound SUV occupied by two people — a 46-year-old man driving and a 16-year-old girl riding as passenger, both of Kindred.

As a result, the SUV struck the woman, who was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead, the report states.

The SUV’s occupants remained on scene and neither of them were injured in the crash, troopers said, adding they were both wearing seat belts.

FHP is still investigating.
