A crash in West Palm Beach late Tuesday night claimed the life of a 33-year-old woman.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) said Vanessa Owens was driving a Buick Verano along Okeechobee Boulevard in the inside lane, approaching Jog Road. At the same time, PBSO said the driver of a 2023 Volvo VNR tractor-trailer was driving along Jog Road, approaching the Okeechobee Boulevard intersection.
The crash report stated that the Volvo truck driver crossed the intersection while the light was green. Unfortunately, Owens failed to stop at the red light and collided with the trailer of the truck.
The crash caused Owens’ Buick to spin out until it came to rest in the intersection, PBSO stated.
Owens was pronounced dead at the scene by West Palm Beach Fire Rescue at 11:27 p.m.
