Deputies with the Broward Sheriff’s Office are investigating after they said a woman was found dead following a reported fire at an Oakland Park home Tuesday morning.

Authorities said at around 11:14 a.m., BSO dispatchers received a report of a deceased woman inside a residence near the 5400 block of Northwest First Avenue.

Broward Sheriff’s Office district deputies and Oakland Park Fire Rescue responded to the scene and confirmed the woman was deceased.

Detectives said a preliminary investigation suggests a fire may have occurred inside.

A Local 10 News crew was at the home just before 1:30 p.m., where multiple BSO units, a crime scene van, and deputies were stationed under a tree near the residence.

Detectives also confirmed BSO’s Homicide Unit and Crime Scene detectives would be investigating the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.

BSO has not disclosed any additional details about the victim at this time.
