A 69-year-old woman from Lake Worth Beach was killed after being struck by a car while attempting to cross a highway on Wednesday morning.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) stated that at around 6:15 a.m., a Honda was driving southbound on North Dixie Highway and approaching Crestwood Boulevard in Lake Worth Beach.
The 69-year-old woman, wearing dark clothing, reportedly failed to yield to the Honda and ran in front of the car. The driver of the Honda swerved in an attempt to dodge the woman but unfortunately hit her with the right side of their front bumper.
The report states that the woman crashed into the windshield of the Honda and was then thrown from the car.
Officials declared the woman dead on the scene.
