Woman rushed to the hospital after being hit by car in Tampa: Police

A woman was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after she was hit by a car in Tampa Thursday evening, according to the Tampa Police Department. 

What we know:

Officers said they responded just after 7:45 p.m. to the 4100 block of East Busch Boulevard after receiving reports that a pedestrian was hit by a car. 

The woman was found in the road when police arrived at the scene, and officers said she was taken to a local hospital for treatment. 

The woman who was driving the car that hit the victim remained at the scene, and TPD said she is cooperating with their investigation. 

The westbound lanes of East Busch Boulevard are closed between North 42nd Street and North 46th Street while authorities investigate the crash.
