Woman shot multiple times while sitting in car

A woman was shot at by two unknown attackers Tuesday night while sitting in her car on Emerson Street near Spring Glen Road.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office responded around 7:45 p.m. to the area after someone called and said a woman was being shot.

Police said the woman was sitting in her car when two unknown individuals holding guns approached her.

Multiple shots were fired into the woman’s car, hitting her arm, leg and back before the attackers drove away in a black four-door sedan.

The woman was taken to a hospital, where she remains in critical but stable condition.

Police said it appeared to be an isolated attack and that the woman was targeted by the gunmen.

Detectives are still investigating the incident.
