Woman taken to hospital after Pinellas County boat explosion

A woman was taken to a hospital Wednesday after being injured in a boat engine explosion in Pinellas County.

The explosion happened Wednesday morning at a boat repair shop near the Bay Pines Marina.

Firefighters with St. Petersburg Fire Rescue and Seminole Fire Rescue responded to the scene, where they found the injured woman.

She was then taken to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital. As of Wednesday afternoon, there was no word on her condition.

No other injuries were reported, and no further information was immediately available.
