A woman, who got out of her car following a crash on Interstate 95 in St. Johns County Sunday night, died after she was hit by a tractor-trailer and another car, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
FHP said the 26-year-old woman had parked on the right shoulder of the interstate, at Mile Marker 299, after being involved in a crash with another driver.
Following the crash, the woman got out of her car to talk to the other driver, and that’s when a 47-year-old man from Miami traveling southbound in a tractor-trailer struck her, according to FHP.
Another woman driving a sedan, who was also traveling southbound in the outside lane behind the tractor-trailer, also hit the 26-year-old woman, troopers said.
The report stated that the 26-year-old woman was a resident of Amityville, New York.
