1 arrested, 1 on the loose after pickup truck crashes into building in Golden Gate

The driver of a stolen pickup truck crashed into a building in Golden Gate after a chase with deputies early Saturday morning.

According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy tried to make a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Livingston Road and Golden Gate Parkway around 12:30 a.m.

CCSO said the suspect sped and did not stop. The pickup ultimately crashed into a home at Santa Barbara Boulevard and 17th Avenue SW. The suspect then got out of the vehicle and attempted to run away.

One person has been arrested, and a second person is still on the loose.
