One person is dead, and one person has been injured following a crash Monday afternoon in Lake County, the Florida Highway Patrol says.
Troopers say the two-car crash took place around 12:13 p.m. on County Road 33 and Soto Road in Groveland.
An official Florida Highway Patrol report states a 2008 Chevrolet HHR was traveling southbound on C.R. 33, and a 2015 Ford Fusion was traveling northbound on C.R. 33, both approaching Soto Road, when the driver of the Chevrolet came out of its lane and into the direct path of the Ford.
The front left of the Chevrolet collided with the front left of the Ford, officials say.
Troopers report the driver of the Chevrolet died after being taken to the Orlando Regional Medical Center.
The driver of the Ford also was taken to the Orlando Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, police say.
The Florida Highway patrol says the crash currently remains under investigation.
