One person was killed and three others were hurt after troopers said a driver slammed into the back of an SUV stopped at an intersection in Bradenton on Wednesday night.

The Florida Highway Patrol said a 27-year-old Bradenton man was driving on State Road 70 East, approaching the intersection of 87th Street East around 10:45 p.m. when he failed to stop at the intersection and slammed into the back of an SUV.

Three people in the SUV were taken to a hospital. A 19-year-old woman suffered serious injuries and a 50-year-old woman later died at the hospital.

The 27-year-old driver and the SUV driver, a 41-year-old man, both suffered minor injuries in the crash.

Troopers didn’t say if any charges were pending.
