he St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday night that a person died following a watercraft accident.
The incident occurred near North Fork St. Lucie River, just south of River Park Marina.
The sheriff’s office said Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission responded to the incident and is leading the investigation.
FWC said a 12-foot Yamaha Personal Watercraft was traveling in the North Fork of the St. Lucie River when it struck a tree and the riverbank.
FWC added 29-year-old Michael A. Barr was ejected into a tree as a result of the collision. His body was recovered and pronounced dead at the scene.
