A crash at the intersection of Santa Barbra Boulevard N. and Jacaranda Parkway E. in northeast Cape Coral had at least one person loaded into a helicopter and flown to the hospital Monday.

“I heard there was a baby, a 3-year-old kid, in the back of the white Nissan,” neighbor Jose Ribis said.

Ribis said the last thing he expected to see was a car smashed right through his neighbor’s fence.

“As soon as I came outside, I see a fire truck, seven cop cars, I see a bunch of cars parked everywhere and at first I was scared,” Ribis said.

He said he watched a good Samaritan stop their car and pull a child in the backseat out.

“He ran out of the car and grabbed the baby out, and then he walked away because he thought the driver was really injured, so he took the baby out of the car and took him into his car,” Ribis said.

A police officer on scene said the baby wasn’t injured.
