One person was injured after a tree crashed down onto a home in Titusville as storms moved over Central Florida on Tuesday.
Police said they received a call for the tree down on Westview Lane just after 1 p.m. and heard people screaming in the background.
According to officers, a neighbor told them after the tree fell, he heard a scream, found a person on the ground, and called 911. He also stated that prior to the tree falling, the wind picked up as a storm approached.
Responding crews found the large tree on the ground and the injured person with a head and leg injury, according to a news release. It was not stated if the person was found inside or outside of the home.
Officials said the tree was not on the patient, but the tree branches did “hinder access to the patient.”
According to the release, the branches were cut away and the patient was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.
