The Delray Beach Police Department announced Monday afternoon that it was investigating a deadly traffic crash that occurred Monday morning.
The police department said at 8:40 a.m., a collision between a motorcycle and a small Toyota sedan took place in the 5300 block of West Atlantic Avenue.
Early reports into the crash revealed a 25-year-old motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed when the motorcycle collided with a turning vehicle at the intersection of West Atlantic Avenue and the Marketplace entrance road.
The driver of the motorcycle died instantly at the scene, whiled the driver of the sedan was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
The westbound lanes of Atlantic Avenue were closed for three hours in the area of the crash.
