1 taken to hospital after cement truck overturns on Florida’s Turnpike in Miami-Dade

A person was taken to the hospital Monday morning after a cement truck overturned on the southbound lanes of Florida’s Turnpike in southwest Miami-Dade, authorities confirmed.

According to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, the crash involved multiple vehicles and a cement truck.

Authorities said one person was transported to a nearby hospital due to the crash. Their identity or condition has not been announced at this time.

Sky 10 flew over the scene around 11:15 a.m. where the cement truck was on its side near a median before the Bird Road exit of the Turnpike.

First responders were seen assessing the damage and talking to witnesses near the scene of the crash. A bulldozer was also at the crash site cleaning up debris in the area.

Authorities were seen directing traffic but have not announced any lane closures at this time.

No other details about the crash were immediately released.
