14-year-old driver thrown from car, critically injured in rollover crash on I-95 exit ramp

A 14-year-old boy was critically injured late Thursday night when he was thrown out of a car in a rollover crash on I-95 in Jacksonville, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported at 11:40 p.m. at the I-95 exit ramp to U.S. 1.

Troopers said the car ran off the road for unknown reasons on the exit ramp, flipped and hit a tree.

The 14-year-old driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the car and suffered critical injuries.

Troopers have not released any other information at this time.
