15-year-old shot outside Tampa home on New Year’s Day, police investigating

Another teenager was found with a gunshot wound in Tampa on New Year’s Day, the police department announced Wednesday.

Around 11:30 a.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 1800 block of 28th Avenue.

A 15-year-old victim was found outside of a home with a gunshot wound. The teen was taken to a nearby hospital where he is in stable condition.

Investigators said this incident does not appear to be random.

This is an active investigation.

This marks the fourth shooting in Tampa within 12 hours, and the second teenager to be injured by gunfire.
