Florida Highway Patrol said two people are dead after a crash at the State Road 82 and Sunshine Boulevard intersection in Lehigh Acres on Sunday.
Reports say a black SUV was traveling westbound on SR-82 at a high rate of speed with five occupants, approaching Sunshine Boulevard.
A white sedan was traveling eastbound in the left turn lane of SR-82 onto Sunshine Boulevard.
The sedan proceeded to turn left into the intersection before the SUV struck the right side of the vehicle.
Troopers say the passenger in the SUV, a Lehigh Acres woman, was pronounced dead on the scene.
Three other male passengers in the SUV, ages 17, 19, and 34, reportedly sustained critical injuries and were transported to the hospital. There is no update on their current conditions at this point.
The 34-year-old driver of the SUV reportedly suffered serious injuries.
FHP says the 18-year-old female driver of the sedan suffered critical injuries and was transported to the hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. Reports say she was a Lehigh Acres native.
The identities of those involved have not been shared at this time.
FHP says the crash is still under investigation.
