2 hurt after altercation leads to stabbing in DeLand, police say

Two men suffered injuries during an alternation that left at least one of them with stab wounds Tuesday evening in DeLand, according to police.

The incident happened around 8:21 p.m. at 122 South Garfield Avenue, the DeLand Police Department said in a news release.

According to the release, the two men involved knew each other.

Police said one of the men left the scene and drove to 1500 North Woodland Blvd. — the address of a Sonny’s BBQ — where he was then taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening stab wounds. The other man involved in the altercation suffered minor injuries, police said.

Police said the incident remains under investigation and charges are expected.

According to the release, it was an isolated incident and the public is not in danger.
