2 hurt when airboat strikes sandbar in Osceola County

Two people suffered minor injuries after an airboat crash in Osceola County.

Crews responded to 2830 Neptune Road Friday morning, a canal that links Lake Tohopekaliga and East Lake Tohopekaliga.

According to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, 10 people were on board the airboat when it struck the sandbar and called 911 for help.

Agencies from Florida Fish and Wildlife, Osceola County Fire Rescue, and St. Cloud Police all assisted on the scene.

The U.S. Coast Guard is investigating the cause of the crash.
