2 motorcyclists hospitalized after hit-and-run in Allapattah

Authorities confirmed that a hit-and-run crash in Miami’s Allapattah neighborhood early Tuesday morning left two motorcyclists hospitalized.

Police have since announced the arrest of 41-year-old Isaac Desmond Florence in connection to the incident.

Authorities said the crash occurred around 3:24 a.m. near Northwest Seventh Avenue and 36th Street.

Miami police said officers arrived at the scene to find a male and a female motorcyclist injured. They said Both were transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center.

According to Florence’s arrest form, his vehicle, a Jeep Compass, broke down near the scene and he took off on foot.

Per the arrest form, officers in the area observed a man running around barefoot before getting in another vehicle, and after stopping that vehicle, the man inside, Florence, admitted to being the driver of the crash.

Florence is now facing multiple felony charges and was booked into jail on Tuesday afternoon. He is expected to make his first court appearance on Wednesday.
