2 people, dog rescued after boat has electrical failure 75 miles offshore

The U.S. Coast Guard Station Mayport duty crew on Sunday night answered a rescue call for a boat located far from shore.

Two people and one dog were stranded 75 nautical miles (or 86 land miles) in the Atlantic on the “Spirited” motor vessel after it experienced an electrical failure.

After 13 hours of towing, the CG 45644 reached shore at 9:50 a.m. this morning.

The U.S. Coast Guard Station Mayport celebrated this morning’s rescue via a Facebook post.
