2 vehicles involved in head-on crash in St. Lucie County

A van and a car collided Sunday afternoon west of Rock Road and Orange Avenue in St. Lucie County.

St. Lucie County Fire Rescue confirmed the wreck happened at 4:29 p.m. with injuries reported. Air rescue was called to the scene.

According to witnesses, two cars were involved in a head-on collision. Orange Avenue was shut down in both directions until the scene was cleared.

The number or extent of injuries yet or the cause of the crash is unclear. WPTV reached out to the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office but did not receive a response.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
