20-year-old motorcyclist killed in collision with tractor trailer near NAS Jax

A 20-year-old man on a motorcycle was killed in a collision with with a tractor trailer near NAS Jax Wednesday morning. 

The crash happened on Roosevelt Boulevard at the 120th Street intersection. 

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the motorcyclist was traveling north on Roosevelt “at a reported high rate of speed” just after 11 a.m. Meanwhile, a 65-year-old man was driving a tractor trailer the opposite direction. When the tractor trailer turned left onto 120th Street into the NAS Allegheny Gate, the motorcyclist was unable to stop and collided with the vehicle. 

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. He was from Anna, Texas.
