A motorcyclist died Thursday night after he crashed into a pickup truck on Baymeadows Road, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.
The 25-year-old motorcyclist was driving east on Baymeadows Road around 7:15 p.m. when a Toyota Tundra pickup truck towing a large utility trailer went to make a left turn after it pulled out from the Park Avelino Apartments, according to JSO.
The pickup truck and trailer blocked all eastbound lanes, causing the motorcyclist to hit the driver’s side, JSO said.
The rider was thrown from his bike and taken to the hospital, where he died from his injuries.
The pickup truck driver stayed on the scene and cooperated with detectives. JSO said there were no signs of impairment. Police did not indicated if the driver of the pickup was injured.
This crash makes the 11th fatal motorcycle accident in the county this year.
