27-year-old man dies after possible medical emergency leads to crash in Okaloosa County

A 27-year-old Gulf Breeze man is dead after a single-car crash occurred Tuesday morning on westbound US-98, east of Cody Avenue, according to FHP.

Troopers say the incident occurred around 6:53 a.m. when the man driving his Ford F150 appeared to have a medical emergency. He veered from the westbound lanes, crossed the median and eastbound lanes, and ultimately collided with a tree south of the roadway.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel, according to FHP.
