A 31-year-old Pensacola man was critically injured in a motorcycle crash Wednesday morning.
The crash happened around 11:30 a.m. on W Michigan Ave. near Memphis Ave.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, the 31-year-old motorcyclist was riding westbound on W. Michigan Ave.
“Witnesses stated the driver was driving at a high rate of speed, making unsafe lane changes, and passing vehicles through the continuous left turn lane,” FHP says in its release.
Meanwhile, a Nissan SUV driven by a 39-year-old Pensacola man was exiting the CEFCO parking lot, attempting to turn left onto W. Michigan Ave.
“Due to the motorcycle’s speed, the driver did not see the motorcycle prior to entering the roadway,” FHP says. “As a result, the motorcycle collided with the left side of the SUV.”
The motorcyclist was transported to the hospital with critical injuries.
No one in the SUV was injured.
No further details were released.
