36-year-old Silver Springs woman hit, killed while walking on CR-314A in Marion County

A 36-year-old Silver Springs woman was struck and killed while walking on a road in Marion County, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

The fatal crash happened around 5:55 a.m. on County Road 314A near NE 14 Street Road.

The FHP said the woman was walking in the northbound lane of C.R. 314A when she was struck by a pickup truck driven by a 63-year-old Silver Springs man.

According to troopers, the woman was wearing dark clothing and the area was dark, with no street lights nearby.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, an FHP crash report stated.

The pickup driver was not injured, troopers said.

Lanes of C.R. 314A were blocked in the area after the crash.
